Wipfli LLP has merged in the health care consulting firm HFS Consultants, including HFS’s marketing division, the Placemaking Group, effective August 1.
HFS, based in Oakland, Calif., provides health care consulting services to hundreds of hospitals and other health care facilities around the country, including services related to financial, strategic, clinical and management operations. The firm was founded in 1991 and has offices in Oakland, Fresno and Santa Ana, Calif.
Wipfli has 33 offices in the U.S., along with two offices in India, ranks among the top 20 accounting and business consulting firms in the nation. Wipfli, based in Milwaukee, ranked 19th on Accounting Today’s 2016 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $227 million in annual revenue.
“The combination with HFS Consultants presents Wipfli with opportunities to expand our physical presence in the western United States and to provide an even greater breadth and depth of services and resources to our clients in the ever-changing health care industry," said Wipfli managing partner Rick Dreher in a statement.
As part of the deal, over 70 professionals from HFS, including five shareholders, are joining Wipfli. The combined firm will have over 1,600 associates, including 192 partners, and 38 office locations in the U.S. and India, providing a wide range of audit, tax, marketing and consulting services to health care and other types of organizations.
