Wipfli acquires Kentucky firm

Wipfli LLP, a Top 25 Firm based in Milwaukee, added Oliver Group, headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, expanding Wipfli's client base in the health care, nonprofit, financial services and manufacturing industries, effective Oct. 31.

"By adding their skilled team to our growing capabilities, we can better help business leaders be prepared to tackle the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly evolving environment," said Wipfli managing partner Kurt Gresens in a statement Thursday.

Both firms offer talent optimization services and technology from the HR consultancy Predictive Index, and the combined firm will have one of the largest Predictive Index practices in the U.S.

"Being an effective leader is a work in process," said Oliver Group CEO Jennifer Mackin in a statement. "Through analysis, coaching, training and recruiting, we've been helping clients revolutionize the way they develop people."

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Wipfli ranked No. 21 on Accounting Today's 2022 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $442.6 million in annual revenue. Approximately 20 employees from Oliver Group, as well as two principals, Macklin and Oliver Group president Thomas Bradley Cox, will join Wipfli's approximately 3,100 staff. 

In February, Wipfli expanded in Arkansas by adding two data analytics and application development companies, Solve100 and Waypoint Consulting. In June of last year, Wipfli merged in Mueller Prost, a Regional Leader headquartered in St. Louis, and in January 2021, it added Hughes & Co. in Denver.
