Vantiv buys Worldpay for $10.4B

U.S. card processing company Vantiv has acquired British payments solution provider Worldpay for $10.4 billion.

The combined company will retain the Worldpay name and will be headquartered in Cincinnati.

The deal comes on the heels of Worldpay’s payment software becoming integrated with accounting software and payroll software Finsync. Worldpay also offers plug-ins for QuickBooks.

Neither company made a public statement about the deal outside of legal statements directed at their investors.
