'Accountant 2' books release date

"The Accountant 2" has an official date in the books, with Amazon MGM Studios announcing an April 25, 2025, release for the Ben Affleck-starring sequel film, as reported by Deadline.

A follow-up to the popular 2016 thriller (featuring a memorable on-screen accountant), the story will continue the saga of Christian Wolff, lethal and brilliant small-town CPA who is tasked with solving a new set of crimes.

Affleck will again be joined by Jon Bernthal, J.K. Simmons and Cynthia Addai-Robinson in the cast, along with characters played by Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, Robert Morgan and Grant Harvey. Gavin O'Connor is also returning to direct.

The film's synopsis, according to Deadline, is: "When her former boss is killed by unknown assassins, Treasury Agent Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) is forced to contact Christian Wolff (Affleck) to solve the murder. With the help of his estranged but highly lethal brother Brax (Jon Bernthal), Chris applies his brilliant mind and less-than-legal methods to piece together the unsolved puzzle. As they get closer to the truth, the trio draw the attention of some of the most ruthless killers alive — all intent on putting a stop to their search."

The 2016 film earned $155M at the worldwide box office and was the most-rented digital film of 2017, according to Deadline.
