Sikich, a Top 100 Firm based in Chicago, has expanded its presence in the Milwaukee area by acquiring Freyberg, Hinkle, Ashland, Powers & Stowell, a firm based in Brookfield, Wisconsin, effective Nov. 1, 2019.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Freyberg, Hinkle, Ashland, Powers & Stowell specializes in performing Taft-Hartley multiemployer and other employee benefit plan audits. It also provides other accounting, audit, tax compliance, tax planning and employee benefit plan services.
“Joining Sikich will greatly benefit our clients and employees,” said Freyberg, Hinkle, Ashland, Powers & Stowell president Tom Powers in a statement. “As part of the Sikich team, we will be able to offer new business services to our clients while maintaining our close relationships and strong level of customer service.”
Twenty employees will be joining Sikich’s existing Brookfield office. Powers and James Ashland will become partners at Sikich.
Sikich currently has more than 850 employees, with approximately 90 partners. The firm’s 2018 revenue was $168.7 million. Sikich ranked 28th on Accounting Today’s 2019 list of the Top 100 Firms.
