The Financial Planning Association, Ameriprise Financial and the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards announced on Tuesday that students in CFP Board-registered universities can now apply for the 2018 Financial Planning Challenge.
The three-stage competition will have undergraduate teams participating in a "Written Financial Planning Case Study," a "Financial Planning Case Study Presentation," and a "'How Do You Know?' Challenge," with the top three teams ultimately receiving monetary scholarships for their respective schools.
New to 2018, students can also now earn up to 80 hours of CFP CE credit for taking part in the Financial Planning Challenge.
“The Financial Planning Challenge is a terrific opportunity for students to enrich their financial planning skills and knowledge, connect with more than 2,000 professionals who are eager and willing to share their experiences, and advance toward their CFP certification,” stated FPA executive director/CEO Lauren Schadle. “We once again look forward to hosting the event with our partners, Ameriprise Financial and CFP Board, to give the financial planning professionals of tomorrow a venue to showcase their knowledge of the profession.”
The Challenge will conclude at the 2018 FPA Annual Conference, held October 3-5 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago.
