Intuit announced new features for QuickBooks Online Accountant, including automated summaries of support calls between clients and experts.
The solution now supports automated call summaries directly within QuickBooks Online Accountant, provided the client subscribes to QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted. Each call log between a client and a Live Expert will show the questions a client has asked and the detailed responses the expert provided. Through QuickBooks Online Accountant, accounting firms can expand their work capacity and complement the services they provide with QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted, giving clients access to setup support, product and bookkeeping answers—including setting up bank accounts, managing a chart of accounts, reconciliations, invoices, expense tracking and more.
QuickBooks Online Accountant now also offers access to QuickBooks Live Cleanup, a service that includes things like categorizing transactions and reconciling accounts. Essentially, it helps prepare a client's books for tax season, bringing their books up to date within 30 days with access to a QuickBooks-certified bookkeeper. Intuit said the feature may assist with the ongoing talent shortage in the accounting profession.
These offerings are now available for purchase through QuickBooks Online Accountant as a wholesale/Bill My Firm option with a 30% ProAdvisor discount off the monthly subscription price for new and existing clients. In early 2025, additional billing options will be added for more flexibility.
These are the newest offerings following updates announced in October. Overall, the company's vision is to provide a personalized space for accounting firms with accountant-specific workflows and robust client management capabilities that span multiple clients. This hub may include a client console that provides access to client data to improve decision-making and speed to better serve clients; advanced role-based access controls and permissions; and a dashboard and file review experience that automatically surfaces anomalies across all clients and tracks and enables closing books.
Intuit has released a number of other updates and enhancements to QuickBooks this past year. Most recently, it introduced Intuit Assist for QuickBooks, which allows the solution to capture updates in email and electronic documents, auto-generate invoices and estimates, enter details like files or QR codes into bills, detect past due invoices and automatically draft reminders, extract details from receipts, and more.
