The National Association of State Boards of Accountancy has announced the team of recipients of its Accounting Education Research Grants Program for 2021.
First launched in 2011, the program looks to "advance research on educational issues impacting CPAs, the public accounting profession and state boards’ charge to protect the public." More than $170,000 has been awarded in support of academic research since the program's inception.
This year’s winning team consists of Marlissa Phillips and Tonya Smalls, both of Clark Atlanta University in Georgia, for their research paper, “Do the program curriculum, faculty characteristics, and support association at Minority Serving Institutions contribute to achieving CPA certification?”
