NAEA appoints new EVP and chief of staff

The National Association of Enrolled Agents has named association executive Megan Killian as its new executive vice president and chief of staff to effectively lead the organization. She took office Monday.

Killian has over 17 years of experience in leading membership organizations. Most recently, she was vice president of member relations at the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs. She was also staff leader for the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Board for PICPA’s foundation and served on its internal D&I committee.

“NAEA is poised for growth and I am committed to continuing its momentum,” said Killian in a statement Monday. “After many years working with CPAs, I’m looking forward to collaborating with the tax experts of NAEA to strengthen the organization and the EA brand.”

Killian isn’t an EA herself, but she will work closely with the members and NAEA leaders and board. She has held the Certified Association Executive credential awarded by the American Society of Association Executives since 2010, and she earned an IOM credential in 2013 from the Institute for Organizational Management program administered by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

“Over the past few years, NAEA has successfully focused on financial stability and strengthening its technology infrastructure,” said NAEA board president Don Rosenberg. "This progress, combined with Meg’s experience in building membership and high-performing teams, will produce amazing results. Her leadership is precisely what we need to take us to the next level.”
