MassCPAs awards $170K in scholarships

The Massachusetts Society of CPAs announced that it awarded 44 scholarships and 17 CPA exam vouchers worth $170,500 to local students as part of the MassCPAs Educational Foundation Scholarship Program. The students were honored at MassCPAs' annual networking event, Connect 2022, held on May 10.

Scholarships are fully funded through donations to the MSCPA’s Educational Foundation. Recipients must either be an undergraduate or graduate accounting student attending a college or university in Massachusetts, or a student attending a college or university out of state with a permanent residence in Massachusetts. Applicants must have shown academic excellence, financial need and the intent to pursue a career in accounting to receive a scholarship. Since the program’s inception in 2006, the foundation has awarded over 300 scholarships to aspiring CPAs, ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 each, and totaling more than $1.5 million.

“The Society is honored to support these extraordinary students who are the next generation of Massachusetts CPAs,” said MassCPA president Amy Pitter in a statement. “This dedicated and talented group makes us all feel confident about the future of the profession, and we couldn’t be prouder to help them along their journey.”
