INDIANA

Somerset CPAs and Advisors adds Jongleux CPA Group

Details: Somerset CPAs PC has merged in Jongleux CPA Group PC, expanding its presence in Indianapolis, where both firms are based.

As part of the deal, Jongleux director A. Dave Jongleux, plus other professionals from his firm, are joining Somerset’s offices. Jongleux CPA Group specializes in tax, bookkeeping, reviews and compilation and payroll services. The combined firm will have approximately 33 partners and 150 professional staff members.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Somerset CPAs ranked No. 17 on Accounting Today’s 2018 Regional Leaders list of the Top Firms in the Great Lakes region.

OHIO

Barnes Dennig adds two firms

Details: Barnes Dennig, a Cincinnati-based firm, is adding Lucarelli Tactical Group and Ducks in a Row effective Jan. 1, 2019.

Lucarelli Tactical Group, founded in 2003 by Dino Lucarelli, CPA, offers succession planning, capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, business valuation and financial management services to middle-market businesses. Barnes Dennig provides similar services, including business valuations, financial and tax due diligence, quality of earnings reports and transaction accounting. The combined firm will be known as Barnes Dennig Transaction Advisory Group.

Ducks in a Row offers bookkeeping, accounting, QuickBooks training and consulting, along with outsourced controller services for entrepreneurs, sole proprietors and nonprofits. The firm was founded in 1994 by Tricia Reynolds. The services are expected to complement Barnes Dennig’s focus on middle-market assurance, tax and advisory services. Ducks in a Row will keep its name and operate as a subsidiary of Barnes Dennig.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Barnes Dennig employs 160 people and is the fifth largest CPA firm in Cincinnati, with offices in downtown Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Indianapolis.

IOWA

Williams & Co. buys Nelson, Gayer, Versteeg

Details: Williams & Co. PC, a firm based in Sioux City, Iowa, is acquiring Nelson, Gayer, Versteeg CPAs, in Estherville, Iowa.

As part of the deal, Danny Dekker, a manager in the Williams office in Spencer, Iowa, will now lead the firm’s new Estherville location, according to the Sioux City Journal. Willams also has offices in Le Lars, Onawa, Sheldon and Spencer, Iowa, in addition to an office in Yankton, South Dakota.
