Approximately one year after joining the company as president and chief operating officer, Laurie Schultz was officially appointed chief executive of audit and risk management software developer ACL, effectively replacing Harald Will.
The company said that Schultz, who joined ACL in August 2011, has led the company to double-digit revenue growth and recruited a “seasoned” leadership team. Will, who established ACL’s commercial operations 25 years ago, will become executive chair of the board and plans to support Schultz and the management team.
Her COO role at ACL was temporary as Will aided her transition over the past year. There are no plans to fill that position, according to a company spokesperson.
Schultz has more than 20 years of experience in the software and technology sectors and came to ACL from Sage North America, where she most recently served as executive vice president and general manager for Sage’s mid-market ERP solutions. In that role, Schultz set the strategic direction for the Sage ERP MAS product line for the U.S. market and for Sage ERP Accpac (now Sage 100, 300, and 500). She also had close ties with many members of Sage’s ERP reseller channel.
“I am thankful for the confidence that Harald and the board have in my abilities to build on his legacy and extend his vision,” said Schultz. “With the support of ACL’s executive team, I look forward to strengthening the company’s established reputation for developing and advocating technology that expands the horizons of audit and risk management.”
