KCoe Isom changes name to Pinion

Top 100 Firm KCoe Isom announced on Monday that it would take the name Pinion — in reference to the pinion gear system that drives motion — to reaffirm its commitment to a bold, innovative approach to business.

"This is a deliberate and proactive move to accelerate our mission, which is to continue to make a difference in the world we live in by using robust resources to help guide, strengthen and secure the future of agriculture operations and production," said CEO Jeff Wald in a statement.

With $74.45 million in revenue in 2021, KCoe Isom ranked No. 69 on Accounting Today's Top 100 Firms list, a position that has remained almost the same for the past three years. The firm has indicated that the rebranding would not affect current proceedings with clients, but that advisors' email addresses would be updated, starting this month.

"Food and agriculture are at the root of Pinion's creation, and remain two-thirds of our clientele today," said Laura Sand, a principal and leader of the commodity crop sector, in a statement. "With resources and services that offer solutions to growing profits, building business relationships, surviving market volatility and leaving a lasting legacy."

It is not the first time that the firm, whose roots date back to 1932, has gone through a makeover: Initially called Kennedy & Co., the Wichita, Kansas-firm adopted the name KCoe Isom in early 2015 after it merged with Chico, California-based Matson and Isom the year before.

The newly rebranded Pinion currently has 22 offices across 11 states, where it provides services to clients who are involved in the ranching, agriculture, animal care and livestock industries.
