The Internal Revenue Service has increased the number of transcripts that tax professionals can order per client to 30, up from 10 previously.

The change in policy came in response to complaints from tax practitioners.
“Increasing the number of transcripts a caller can receive addresses the concerns the IRS has received from PPS callers,” said Ken Corbin, commissioner of the IRS’s Wage and Investment Division and the IRS taxpayer experience officer, in a statement Tuesday. “This is another example of addressing concerns from our partners and stakeholders.”
Tax pros can also order different types of transcripts for up to five clients per call through PPS, but there’s no change to the number of clients.
Transcripts available under this newly expanded limit include:
- Tax return transcripts;
- Tax account transcripts;
- Wage and income transcripts;
- Records of account; and,
- Verification of non-filing letters.
Transcripts that are among those listed above are still limited to 10 per client and count toward the total of 30 transcripts per client.
Tax professionals will continue to receive TDS transcripts in their e-Services secure object repository mailboxes. The change in policy also applies to other IRS toll-free lines.
