Intuit is adding QuickBooks Cash, the bank account for small businesses, to QuickBooks Online Accountant and is planning updates to the Payroll Insights Dashboard for April.
The company has already started rolling out QuickBooks Cash to accountants and firms, and has added tools to help accountants manage their firm’s cash flow.

- Cash Flow Planner, a tool to understand past, present and future cash flow;
- A digital bank account with digital envelopes where businesses can partition funds and save money for future goals and expenditures;
- 1 percent annual percentage yield;
- Instant access to customer payments for free;
- Cloud-based accessibility from anywhere; and,
- Flexibility with bill pay methods.
The phased rollout of QuickBooks Cash to QuickBooks Online Accountant started in late March and will continue over the coming weeks. For additional information on QuickBooks Cash, see this
Payroll updates
QuickBooks has added the Payroll Insights Dashboard to the client list within QBO Accountant. This new feature summarizes the top payroll tasks of onboarding, pay day, tax payments and filing dues, and can be accessed in the client tab within QuickBooks Online Accountant. This feature has already begun rolling out to users.
Enhanced search capabilities
QuickBooks Online Accountant now features enhanced search capabilities. ProAdvisors can search for information by entering a phone number, an address or information included in memo fields. Users can also search by multiple criteria (such as phone number and name). The new search capabilities also includes a list of the most recent search queries, allowing direct navigation to screens for data creation. These new capabilities can be accessed via the ProAdvisor tab within QuickBooks Online Accountant and are now live for all global QBO Accountant users.
Accountant Council applications open
Intuit is now recruiting for the next class of its Accountant Council, a group of innovative accounting professionals who serve two-year terms. The goal of the Accountant Council is to create a forum where Intuit can hear from accounting partners to better understand their points of view, challenges and the issues and trends impacting small businesses and the accountants who serve them. Council members help Intuit determine future strategy, product development, programs and services for Intuit’s small business, self-employed, accountant and bookkeeper customers and partners. The Council currently meets virtually with the intent to meet in-person when health guidelines allow.
