The Illinois CPA Society has announced the recipients of its 2020 Excel Awards, recognizing Uniform CPA Exam test-takers with the highest scores in the state.
Award winners must have a combined average score of 90 percent or higher on all exam sections within two consecutive testing windows, in addition to placing in the top 5 percent of all Illinois scores. The Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals, listed below, represent the top three scores in the state.
“Earning the CPA credential is one of the most notable ways to establish your professional identity and exhibit a high level of competence in the accounting and finance profession, so it’s always exciting to welcome and honor the new CPAs in Illinois that will one day lead this great profession,” said ICPAS president and CEO Todd Shapiro in a statement. “By earning the highest scores on the Uniform CPA Exam in Illinois, these outstanding individuals have set a high bar of excellence, and we look forward to seeing them build successful careers as the most trusted and strategic business advisors.”
The 2020 Excel Award winners are:
- Gold Medal Award: Kaleb McCarter (Indiana University Bloomington; Deloitte)
- Silver Medal Award: Meredith Miscinski (Boston College; RSM US)
- Bronze Medal Award: Michaela Spreier (Illinois State University; KPMG)
- Excel Award Recipients: Brenna Barrett (University of Kansas; EY); David Salvas (Indiana University Bloomington; EY)
