Honkamp, a Regional Leader based in Dubuque, Iowa, merged in Schowalter & Jabouri, one of the 20 largest CPA firms in the St. Louis metro area, effective Dec. 2, 2023.
Schowalter & Jabouri provides attest, tax and business advisory services from its St. Louis offices and has over 30 employees, all of whom are being retained by Honkamp. They will continue to serve clients from their St. Louis office.
This will be the first office in Missouri for Honkamp, which now has approximately 300 employees. In addition to St. Louis, the firm has eight offices in Iowa and Wisconsin. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Honkamp ranked No. 8 on Accounting Today's 2023 Regional Leaders list of the Top Firms in the Midwest, with $44 million in annual revenue.

Schowalter & Jabouri dates back to 1976 and serves clients in a wide range of industries. "This is an ideal partnership," said Schowalter & Jabouri president Jamie Jabouri in a statement. The deal marks Honkamp's fourth acquisition in the past two years. The firm, previously known as Honkamp Krueger, acquired Vaassen, Pluemer CPAs, LLC, of Platteville, Wisconsin, and the Cedar Falls, Iowa, office of Gosling & Co., P.C., in November 2022.
