GBQ acquires Talentcrowd

GBQ Partners, a Top 100 Firm based in Columbus, Ohio, acquired hiring platform Talentcrowd in a move to expand its business technology offerings.

Talentcrowd, also based in Columbus, allows GBQ to now offer project management office, change management, IT/DevOps program evaluation, cloud architecture, data governance and architecture, AI vision and risk management process improvement, software development and Microsoft remediation services to clients.

"This relationship will enhance GBQ's existing business technology service offerings by providing and implementing innovative, data-driven workforce strategies that further empower growth of our clients' businesses," Doug Davidson, director of business technology solutions at GBQ, said in a statement. "This partnership underscores GBQ's dedication to being a bold, nimble and innovative leader in professional services."

GBQ and Talentcrowd will continue to operate as two distinct brands, but the combined firm will operate as one team behind the scenes. Talentcrowd's founder and president Joshua Lintz and CEO Amanda Frye will also help enhance the firm's business technology solutions.

"With Talentcrowd, we gain access to on-demand talent solutions and the ability to offer greater flexibility and efficiency for client engagements, including broader business technology consulting capabilities to address complex business challenges, optimized project delivery and competitive workforce solutions tailored to client needs," Davidson added.  

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. GBQ Partners ranked No. 99 on Accounting Today's 2024 list of the Top 100 Firms. GBQ earned $66,151,481 in annual revenue last year. Prior to the deal, the firm had 248 professionals, including 37 partners and 53 administrative staff. 

GBQ was founded in 1953. In January, it acquired Wirth Lowe Wissemeier, a CPA firm in Cincinnati. In December 2024, it acquired Lillie & Company and Lillie Resource Group, a firm in Sunbury, Ohio that specializes in credit union clients, making it No. 1 on Ohio's list of public accounting firms by total credit union client assets. Earlier, it acquired VZN Group, based in Toledo, Ohio, in 2023, and Weber Clark, also in Toledo, in 2020.
