Friedman LLP Opens Beijing Office

New York-based CPA firm Friedman LLP has opened an office in Beijing, expanding the firm into China.

The firm has been building an SEC practice for Chinese companies, offer audit and tax services for companies whose shares trade on U.S. markets.

Friedman LLP managing partner Bruce Madnick has been broadening Friedman’s reach geographically and building the firm’s profile regionally, nationally and internationally.  “Our expansion into China is a reflection of our commitment to continuously serve the needs of this growing market”, Madnick said in a statement.

Friedman LLP’s Asian American Business Group partner Jason Tang said the new Beijing office would bring the firm closer to its clients in China and provide it with a greater opportunity “to deepen our relationship with our clients and be part of their community.”

Friedman LLP ranked number three ranking among auditors serving Chinese-based SEC registrant companies, according to an analysis by Audit Analytics based on registrant filings. According to the analysis, Friedman LLP precedes Big Four firms KPMG LLP and Ernst & Young LLP, and follows Deloitte & Touche and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

“We’ve always been well positioned to do the work, and now we’re making even bigger strides in attracting major audit clients in the Chinese market,” said Madnick.

To support the growth from this market, Friedman LLP has added a number of professionals to its Chinese-based SEC practice. “The addition of seasoned talent to Friedman’s specialized practice has enhanced the firm’s ability to deliver audit, tax and advisory services to Asian companies looking to access U.S. capital markets,” said SEC practice leader and executive partner Jeff Zudeck in a statement. “Our staff at all levels not only posses the technical expertise but are also well versed in the culture and language.”
