EY acquires tech consulting firm

Ernst & Young has acquired Dignari, a woman-owned technology consulting firm that specializes in digital identity and access management solutions to provide cybersecurity for U.S. government clients.

Dignari, based in Alexandria, Virginia, has approximately 300 employees and has been operating since 2013. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We are excited about welcoming the world-class Dignari team to the EY Government & Public Sector practice," said Doree Keating, EY Americas government and public sector leader, in a statement Monday. "We believe that blending EY US's commitment to provide customers with mission-ready solutions and Dignari's identity and access management capabilities in the homeland security space will offer a highly differentiated value proposition for our government clients."

Dignari will now be called EY Dignari. "For over a decade, Dignari has made a significant impact on furthering the federal government's security mission with modern technologies," said Dignari founder and CEO Gena Alexa in a statement. "These efforts can be scaled across local and state governments as well — and when combined with the power of the EY network will strengthen outcomes for both the public sector and the people it serves."

EY plans to offer Dignari's technology services to the private sector as well under the EY brand.

"Commercial sectors such as financial services and airlines, among others, will benefit from Dignari's technology strengths in IAM," said EY Americas consulting vice chair Whitt Butler in a statement. "Together, Dignari and EY US are positioned on the cutting edge of how governments and businesses use technology to achieve results securely."

In May, EY acquired Nuvalence, an AI technology consulting firm based in Albany, New York, to accelerate delivery of generative AI-enabled services to organizations. Last year, EY acquired Tallan, a New York-based technology solutions company, to join EY US's Microsoft Services Group.
