EisnerAmper acquires Imowitz Koenig

EisnerAmper LLP, a Top 100 Firm, has merged in Imowitz Koenig & Co, LLP, a CPA firm in New York, and its affiliated real estate fund advisory firm Real Estate Systems Implementation Group LLC.

IK/RESIG, as the affiliated firms are known for short, was founded in 1979. As part of the deal, 14 partners and staff from IK/RESIG are joining EisnerAmper, which is also based in New York. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. IK offers audit, tax and advisory services to real estate industry clients, while RESIG provides fund administration, structuring and advisory services to real estate funds and management companies.

EisnerAmper ranked No. 18 on Accounting Today’s 2019 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $360.7 million in annual revenue. Earlier this year, the firm had approximately 170 partners and 1,400 employees.

“Imowitz Koenig and RESIG, like EisnerAmper, have a long and celebrated tradition of being leading-edge, client-centric firms — which makes this union such a great fit. We’re thrilled to welcome their team into the EisnerAmper family,” said EisnerAmper CEO Charly Weinstein in a statement.

His firm had another M&A deal earlier this year: In June, EisnerAmper merged in CSAM Marketing Inc., a managed IT security services firm with offices in New York and New Jersey.

RESIG will be renamed as EA RESIG LLC as part of the deal. “This was a unique opportunity to combine the capabilities of RESIG with EisnerAmper’s preeminent Real Estate Services Group,” stated Neil Koenig, founding partner of IK/RESIG, who is joining EisnerAmper as president of EA RESIG LLC. “The real winners here are the firms’ clients, who will gain from the combined expertise of our skilled business advisors, expanded service offerings, and the increased application of industry-leading technology.”
