Top 20 Firm Dixon Hughes Goodman announced on Tuesday that it will debut a new hybrid workforce model, "DHG Anywhere," with staff members utilizing a hybrid or virtual work model, beginning this September.
The firm says the new work model will offer staff members flexibility "within reasonable boundaries" through the belief of “Freedom Within a Framework.”
“DHG has long considered flexibility a hallmark of its culture with trust, a key value of the firm, as its foundation," said DHG CEO Matt Snow in a statement. "Trust is at the core of DHG Anywhere. We trust — and know from pandemic performance — our people have been providing excellent client service and have remained productive, so we see no reason to reduce this flexibility. We look forward to this next chapter on our journey to be the Firm of the Future."
DHG Anywhere is the result of feedback gathered from staff members and clients concerning the firm’s return to a post-COVID-19 workplace. A majority of employees voiced support for a hybrid work model with more flexibility. A taskforce comprised of more than 60 firm members ultimately designed a strategy built on supporting both client needs and maintaining firm culture.
“When looking at our path to re-entry, we understood there was no going back to how things were — we have immensely changed due to the pandemic," Snow added. "Our team put in the extra effort to ask our people and clients how they would like to work together. This gave us the insight we needed to reimagine how our team members could do their work effectively and to find new ways to serve our clients."
Features of the DHG Anywhere model will include:
- Hours and days based on team- and client-specific needs to shape where and how staff works.
- Surveying clients as to how and where they would like to be served.
- The creation of Align Groups, comprised of staff members who "naturally align together," to balance less social interaction. Group leaders will be responsible for the success of their group members.
- In-person offices are set to become more collaborative workspaces to allow firm members and clients to work more freely.
