Top 10 Firm CliftonLarsonAllen announced a new summer internship program for high school students, where they'll be exposed to career opportunities in accounting, tax, wealth management, digital and consulting services.
"Our high school internship program is designed to give students the opportunity to explore the wonderful world of accounting and finance as they develop new skills and discover their strengths," said Jen Leary, CEO of CLA, in a statement. "We are thrilled to offer this exciting opportunity to high school students, and to collaborate with Future Business Leaders of America to help build the accounting profession pipeline and inspire the next generation of business leaders."
High school students participated in the creation of CLA's newest internship program, which offers opportunities to collaborate with other high schools across the United States. From client service simulations to social media development, students are expected to gain first-hand work experience and the opportunity to engage in presentations and competitions.
The initiative emerged from a partnership with Future Business Leaders of America, the largest career student organization in the world, which will gain additional resources and help CLA interns develop the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace. Available in 15 CLA offices nationwide, the internship program begins on June 19, 2023, and is open to students between 16 and 18 years old.
"This strategic relationship with CLA is exactly what FBLA seeks to bring to our students — real-world, work-based learning," said FBLA president and CEO Alexander Graham, in a statement. "A CLA internship helps highlight career options before college, develop the workforce skills needed to be successful employees, and start building professional networks that will help them succeed in the future."
