Botkeeper announces new Botkeeper Operating System

Automated bookkeeping solution provider Botkeeper previewed its upcoming Botkeeper Operating System, which upgrades the Botkeeper platform's capacities to include new features for accountants.

BOS will be able to auto-categorize client transactions via historical data in combination with trained algorithms, and sync them back to the general ledger system. It promises expanded control permissions for selected users and teams, so client information is only visible to those who should be seeing it. User interface changes allow firms to bring multiple widgets and reports into a single picture. Reports on this data can be emailed on a recurring basis.

In addition, the operating system allows more transparency into the working of the program, so users can view, for example, whether data has been classified as high, medium or low confidence, giving them more control over the machine learning process itself, such as being able to set when the machine learning actually starts.

These features, and more, will be available without the need for third-party integration tools.

“Building a system from the ground up has been an exciting challenge," said Botkeeper chief product officer John Barnes in a statement. "Our accounting partners will reap the benefits of the many hours our beta participants spent helping us make this innovative and exceptional Botkeeper Operating System. We’re grateful to have an amazing client base whose participation and feedback helped us to take our aspirations and make them reality.”
