Bonadio Group hosts 45th annual celebration

The Bonadio Group celebrated its 45th annual "& More Day" with its theme "Catalyst for Greatness" highlighting employee accomplishments in philanthropy and client services.

Over 850 associates traveled from across the U.S. to attend the event at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York and see top performers being recognized for their involvement with the firm's Promise Connection, which honors associates who go above and beyond to help their colleagues. The firm recognizes people who are living Bonadio's core values, and employees have the opportunity to nominate coworkers, which creates stories to share during the event.

"While I love the virtual event space for its ability to bring a larger audience together, there is nothing quite like getting everyone together for in-person events," said Danielle MacGowan, who coordinated the past eight & More Days. "& More Day has been a part of TBG's culture from the very beginning. It is so important to our leadership that we bring everyone together one day each year to share information with our firm and, more importantly, celebrate our people."

This team-building event is a way to celebrate a successful year and take a long at where the firm is from a strategic standpoint. It's also an opportunity to celebrate employees' contributions to the organization and highlight the firm's culture. The Bonadio Foundation will donate $4,000 to the Syracuse Chapter of the American Heart Association on behalf of senior assurance innovator Danielle Fiorello, who was honored with the fifth annual Bonadio Cares award.

CEO Bruce Zicari said Bonadio's purpose is to create opportunities for its people's communities and present their culture as a differentiator by explaining how people have thrived within the organization. For example, one staff member lost a family member and all her coworkers rallied to cover her work, allowing her to recover with her loved ones. Another had a difficult time transitioning to Bonadio, and coworkers once again played a significant role in making this moment less challenging.

"This year's theme relates to how each of us can be a catalyst for greatness, someone who makes a positive difference in our community, with each other and with our clients," said Zicari. "People really embrace that concept and live by it on a regular basis, because we have a purpose-driven culture that rewards striving for integrity."

The firm released videos for each of the three finalists for the Bonadio Cares award to let people vote and determine who would receive $4,000 for the charity of their choice. However, this year's vote was so close that all three received the recognition. To Zicari, that shows the true meaning of "unlocking someone's greatness." In total, there were 15 submissions for this year's award.

"In a period of time where everything is going virtual, I think this is a great opportunity to highlight how important it is to get together to celebrate and talk about the future of the organization," said Zicari. "Our firm slogan has always been 'better together,' and we think that this & More Day celebration is really something that our people enjoy."
