Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Aquinas College has announced the launch of a new accounting and auditing certificate program, aimed at the growing demand for non-accounting professionals in accounting and finance positions.

“This program meets a real and rapidly increasing need in the business community in greater West Michigan,” said Aquinas professor Brad Keuning in a statement. “One of the key elements of the Aquinas College Accounting and Auditing Certificate Program is our ability to deliver critical skills that non-accounting professionals can use to help their financial teams and organizations succeed.”
Program topics will include accounting and auditing fundamentals; financial statement and ratio analysis; an introduction to accounting systems, system risks, business processes and controls; experiential audit simulation: audit purpose, risk assessment, materiality, controls, audit testing and reporting; and an industry-specific breakout week with content customized based on student interests.
Registration is now open for the program, which will begin June 1 and run for 10 weeks, with classes held online from 7-10 p.m. on Tuesdays. More information is available on Aquinas's
