The American Institute of CPAs has announced the CPA Evolution Resource Competition, which looks to promote education resources centered on the new
Representing a joint effort from the AICPA and National Association of State Boards of Accountancy, the new CPA Evolution model aims to better prepare CPAs with the ever-changing skills and competencies required from modern professionals. The new competencies will be reflected in the 2024 Uniform CPA Exam.
The resource competition is asking accounting educators to submit their original long- or short-form case studies, exercises, and general education material based on the CPA Evolution model. Winners will be considered for an award ranging from $300 to $1,500 for their efforts.
“[The] AICPA is committed to supporting faculty as they prepare for the changes that CPA Evolution will bring about," said Jan Taylor-Morris, AICPA and CIMA academic in residence, in a statement. "I encourage all accounting educators to take advantage of the free resources available on the Academic Resource Hub to help with the transition to the next version of the CPA exam.”
The deadline to apply to the competition — either as an individual, or as a team — is Oct. 31, 2021. Winners and honorable mentions will be selected and notified by Dec. 1, 2021, and will be asked to present their ideas during a "Faculty Hour" webcast.
