Australian tax authorities are continuing to investigate the taxes of actor Paul Hogan, star of the hit Crocodile Dundee movies.
Hogan hired more than 20 accountants and lawyers to vet his taxes and advise him on business, according to court records from 2006 that became available last week. Among the firms that worked for him were Ernst & Young.
Hogan has been accused of traveling between Australia and the United States between 2002 and 2005 in an effort to avoid being considered a tax resident of either country, according to the Australian newspaper The Age. The court records reveal that he is one of the subjects of an ongoing probe by the Australian Tax Office known as Operation Wickenby that has been investigating allegations of tax fraud and money laundering. Hogan has denied any wrongdoing.
