Thomson Reuters has completed its SurePrep acquisition; Wolters Kluwer announced BowTieXP Enterprise Version 11 Service Pack 3; SAP releases its "Automation Starter Pack;" and other accounting tech updates.

Thomson Reuters completes SurePrep acquisition

Thomson Reuters said it has now completed its acquisition of tax automation solutions provider SurePrep. The agreement was first announced last November (see previous story). By buying SurePrep, Thomson Reuters will add software and services such as 1040Scan, SPbinder and TaxCaddy, which leverage artificial intelligence to automate the collection and processing of digital documents directly from clients, as well as automatically extracting and populating key data in tax compliance software.

SAP releases "Automation Starter Pack"

SAP released a starter pack of SAP Build Process Automation in the public edition of SAP S/4HANA Cloud. The starter pack includes two advanced users who can create workflows and build automations; 20 standard users who can initiate and participate in workflows created by the advanced user; and one unattended automation that can be triggered without human intervention. The low-code solution can be used to build processes and approvals, automate routine tasks with robotic process automation, and leverage built-in artificial intelligence for data extraction from PDFs, Excel files and more.

Tax and accounting solutions provider Wolters Kluwer released BowTieXP Enterprise Version 11 Service Pack 3. The software includes an Audit API that supports lists of survey templates, lists of completed surveys, details on completed surveys, and the ability to post completed surveys back and attach answers to questions. Users can now anonymize reporting of incidents to encourage people to report observations. The name of the observation reporter is visible only to the group of people who are authorized to see it.
