Mazars, New York, announced its 2021 giving theme, “supporting first responders.” Launched in 2018, the firm’s annual charitable effort donates $100,000 to organizations dedicated to each year’s cause. This year’s recipients include: NYC Health & Hospitals COVID-19 Relief Efforts; First Responders Children's Foundation; Families Behind the Badge Children's Foundation; Stephen Siller Tunnel Tao Towers Foundation; Brotherhood for the Fallen; Chicago Fire Department Foundation; The Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Sacramento; Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association - The Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter’s Fund; COVID-19 Employee Relief Fund at Frederick Health; Loma Linda University Health; and Friends of the Dallas Police.

The Virginia Society of CPAs, Richmond, joined other organizations across the country April 20 to participate in the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion Day of Understanding to promote ongoing and thoughtful engagement and conversations on topics such as race, gender, sexual orientation and mental health. VSCPA staff observed the day with training for having open and honest communications in a DEI landscape from the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities, and also held a session for staff to share personal stories.
