The Financial Accounting Foundation names new members to a major advisory board, Connecticut firms turn out for a big annual food drive, and other news from across the profession.

CALIFORNIA

The Financial Accounting Foundation appointed eight new members to the Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council:
  • David Gonzales, vice president and senior accounting analyst, Moody’s Investors Service;
  • Elizabeth Hall, financial controller, Mars Inc.;
  • Clare Hart, portfolio manager and managing director, J.P. Morgan Asset Management;
  • Heather Horn, partner and U.S. strategic thought leader, National Office, PwC;
  • Lara Long, vice president and chief accounting officer, AGCO Corp.;
  • Nirav Parikh, equity research analyst, Mutual of America Capital Management;
  • Brian Regan, managing director and chief financial officer, Spectrum Equity
  • J.W. Verret, associate professor of law, George Mason University, and expert witness, Veritas Financial Analytics.

Susan Callahan, Richard Forrestel and David Schmid will be retiring from FASAC at the end of December.

KENTUCKY

TrinSoft, Lexington, announced a number of new hires: Jeremy Prichard (pictured) has joined the TrinDocs team as director of sales and marketing; Nathan Overbey has joined the TrinDocs team as the lead software engineer; and Nicholas Jackson has joined TrinSoft’s Microsoft Dynamics team as a Dynamics consultant.

The NJSCPA's 2020 food drive
The New Jersey Society of CPAs received a record of almost $25,000 in online donations for its 11th annual food drive, and collected approximately a thousand tons of food, all of which will go to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey and local food banks across the state. The drive is hosted by the society's Emerging Leaders Council. The following firms and organizations participated:

Three professionals from Houston-based Crossroads Strategic Advisors are joining Top 100 Firm CohnReznick LLP. Crossroads founder Jeff Anapolsky is joining the firm as a managing director and Southwest leader of the firm's restructuring and dispute resolution practice. Amy Stonecipher and Jean Almonte are also joining CohnReznick.

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced a number of personnel changes: Charles Koretke has been named managing executive of the Division of Examinations and John Moses has been named deputy director of the Office of Investor Education and Advocacy, while chief of staff Sean Memon and Dalia Blass, the director of the Division of Investment Management, will be leaving in January.
