CALIFORNIA

CONNECTICUT

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont proclaimed Nov. 7-11, 2022 to be Accounting Opportunities Week, during which the Connecticut Society of CPAs sent CPAs and accounting professionals into classrooms across the state.

The Financial Accounting Standards Board, Norwalk, appointed to its Small Business Advisory Committee: Jared Goodman, senior portfolio manager, Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association; and Steven Yang, fundamental analyst, Aquila Group of Funds.

INDIA

Acupro Consulting, Gurgaon, joined BKR International.

INDIANA

As part of CPA Week, members of the Indiana CPA Society participated in 71 in-person and on-demand high school presentations the week of Nov. 7, reaching 31 high schools and nearly 1,800 high school students.

KENYA

Wamira & Associates, Nairobi, joined BKR International.

MASSACHUSETTS

Alan Litwin will be stepping aside as managing director and CEO of KLR, Boston, which he has led since 1983, at the end of 2022, when he will continue a role with the firm. Paul Oliveira was elected as the next CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2023.

Paul Saganey, president and founder of Integrated Partners, Boston, Konvergent Wealth Partners' Homer Smith and author Russ Alan Prince launched a new book collaboration, "Optimizing the Financial Lives of Clients: Harness the Power of an Accounting Firm's Elite Wealth Management Practice."

MINNESOTA

Michael Andrews

Michael Andrews was hired as principal and leader of the estate and trust services group at Boeckermann Grafstrom & Mayer, Bloomington.

MISSISSIPPI

Rob King

Rob King, associate director in the Hattiesburg office at Postlethwaite & Netterville, was named chairman of the forensic, litigation and valuation services committee for the Society of Louisiana CPAs.

MISSOURI

Lee Ferguson

Lee Ferguson was hired as a managing director, in St. Louis, and Craig Todderud as a director, in Indianapolis, both in the dealerships practice, at Forvis.

NEW JERSEY

The New Jersey Society of CPAs, as part of its annual lottery, awarded 10 of its members $750 each toward their CPA exam fee costs: Mixhever Asani, Montclair State University; Nicolas Batelli, Rider University; Yaakov Kroll, Fairleigh Dickinson University – Lakewood; Allen Laster, Fairleigh Dickinson University – Metropolitan Campus; Allandria Munroe; Kishan Patel, Seton Hall University; Anh Phan; Jacob Press; Nina Sims; and Zehnieta Turner.

Withum, Princeton, was named on the Military Times' annual Best for Vets: Employers list for the first time.

Staci Brogan was promoted to practice unit leader of the accounting assurance and advisory practice, and Justin Steele was promoted to practice unit leader of the tax advisory practice, at Schneider Downs, Pittsburgh.

Michael Koch was named leader of the valuations practice at RKL, Lancaster.

Nathalie Hoffman was hired as a director in the energy compliance services practice at Weaver, Houston.

Katherine Sharp was hired as an income partner in the Dallas office at Mazars.
