Grant Thornton, Chicago, announced this month's new class of partners, principals and managing directors, which at 38 new partners and principals and 58 managing directors is the largest in firm history. 

MARYLAND

Aronson, Rockville, announced its government contracting services group will be hosting A Day of M&A, a conference for industry professionals to network and hear from experts in the government contracting space, Sept. 14.

TENNESSEE

David Frederick was hired as a senior manager in the wealth advisory practice and Dennis Metzler as leader of the international tax practice at LBMC, Nashville. 

The Tennessee Society of CPAs, Nashville, awarded $285,000 in scholarships through the Educational & Memorial Foundation of TSCPA to 111 students attending colleges or universities throughout Tennessee.

UNITED KINGDOM

The IFRS Foundation Trustees appointed  to the International Sustainability Standards Board: Jenny Bofinger-Schuster, senior vice president for sustainability and operational excellence at Siemens; Hiroshi Komori, senior director and head of the stewardship and ESG division at the Government Pension Investment Fund in Japan; and Veronika Pountcheva, senior vice president of corporate responsibility at METRO and co-chief executive officer of NX Food.
