On the move: INCPAS VP to chair Institute for Organization Mgmt.

The Financial Accounting Foundation appointed members to the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council; the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board named its next CIO; and more news from across the profession. 

CONNECTICUT

The Board of Trustees of the Financial Accounting Foundation, Norwalk, appointed to the Governmental Accounting Standards Advisory Council, for terms beginning Jan. 1, 2024: Robert Bland, endowed professor of local government, department of public administration, University of North Texas; Chris Clarke, legislative post auditor, Kansas Legislative Division of Post Audit; John Liszewski, commissioner of finance, City of Yonkers; Michelle Watterworth, partner, Plante Moran; and Robert Weber, vice president/senior analyst, Moody's Investors Service. The FAF Trustees also reappointed ten members: Karen Carraher, Joni Davis, Scott DeViney, Ricky Hatch, Zachary Jackson, Anita Kovacs, Suzanne Lowensohn, Harriet Richardson, Robert Scott and Karen Wiesman.

The Kansas Society of CPAs hosted INSPIRE Business Camp for Kansas high school students, a collaborative effort incorporating Kansas high school educators, collegiate faculty and students, future employers, and speakers in the business sector and featuring career booths, team building activities, and roundtables.
