Ty Riley was hired as director of the newly launched cost segregation tax incentives at Henry+Horne, Tempe.

AUSTRALIA

Accru Group, with offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Hobart, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, joined MGI Worldwide as a member firm of the international network.

CALIFORNIA

Armanino, San Ramon, announced the appointments of: John Kogan as chief financial officer, effective March 1, 2022, succeeding Chris Siegfried who will become a member of the firm’s internal technology implementation team; Tom Mescall to chief growth officer after leading the firm’s consulting practice for more than 17 years; partner Larry Hancock to chief communications officer; Cody Page to lead the firm’s new transformation and practice excellence team after serving in the tax COO role for the last three years; consulting leader Ryan Prindiville, chief people officer Carol Ann Nash, and CFO advisory practice leader and Texas geographic leader Caroline Stovall to the operating leadership team; and to the board of partners: Dean Quiambao, business development leader; Jenn McCabe in consulting; Katerina Starkova in audit; and Min Riblett in tax.

Jim Wallace, CEO of BPM, San Francisco, was named chair of the Americas region board for Allinial Global.

The Illinois CPA Society published the final episode of its planned First 100 video interviews in its series of Black CPA Centennial videos highlighting trailblazing Black accountants, with this installment featuring NJCPA CEO Ralph Thomas, the first Black CEO of a state CPA society.

Julie Boland

Julie Boland was elected EY US chair and managing partner and appointed Americas area managing partner for a four-year term beginning July 1, 2022, succeeding Kelly Grier who will retire from EY when her term ends June 30, 2022. Boland, who will also lead the U.S. executive committee, served as US-central regional vice chair since 2018 and many other leadership roles at EY including as Cleveland office managing partner and senior advisory partner and global client serving partner (see story).

PwC, New York, has sold its global mobility tax and immigration services business to Clayton, Dubilier & Rice funds, to become an independent company called Vialto Partners.
