Richard Chambers, the former president and CEO of the Institute of Internal Auditors, was named an overseas honorary dean of Nanjing Audit University. He was named an honorary professor of NAU in 2011.

Anita Ison, CPA, has joined Kruggel Lawton CPAs, South Bend, as a senior manager. She has more than 20 years of public accounting audit experience and will be involved in employee benefit plan audits. She will focus on training and development for new team members, as well as helping develop audit tools.

KENTUCKY

Mike Walton has joined Sentient Solutions for Accounting, Louisville, as vice president of growth. Previously, he led the marketing and business development efforts for a Top 100 Firm.

MARYLAND

Staffing and consulting firm Aston Carter, Hanover, has separated from its divisional alignment with Aerotek to form an independent operating company. The company will serve a range of professional skill sets, including accounting and finance; governance, risk and compliance; operations and administrative; and customer support. Aston Carter will remain strategically aligned under its parent company, Allegis Group.

MICHIGAN

Makenzi Mae Melchor has joined Lewis & Knopf CPAs P.C, Flint, as director of first impressions. She recently graduated from Mott Community College.

NEW YORK

California-based Top 25 Firm Armanino has established an East Coast presence by opening its first office in New York City. Entertainment industry advisors Craig Manzino and Marc Rosen are joining the firm as partners at the core of the new office. They bring with them 26 professionals. The office will be at 14 Penn Plaza, near Penn Station and Madison Square Garden.

Paul Truitt has joined Mazars as principal and national cybersecurity practice leader, and Toni Mazzacca has joined the firm as a partner in the financial services tax practice. Truitt, who will be located in the Pennsylvania office, previously served as the leader of the U.S. cybersecurity practice of a global accounting firm, while Mazzacca, who will be based in the New York office, was previously a director of international tax at a Big Four firm.

Janover LLC, New York, was named a national 2021 Top Workplace for Culture Excellence by Energage, an independent research company that recognizes companies in all industries that prioritize a people-centered culture.

NORTH DAKOTA

Eide Bailly, Fargo, announced that applications are now being accepted for its ninth annual Resourcefullness Award, which recognizes outstanding nonprofits for creative and sustainable revenue-generating initiatives in Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, Nevada and North Dakota. Award recipients will be announced on Oct. 22, 2021, and each winning nonprofit will receive $10,000.

WISCONSIN

The National Association of Tax Professionals, Appleton, announced the winners of its Chapter of the Year program: Alabama and New York tied for first place, while Arizona took second place, New Jersey took third place, and honorable mentions went to New Hampshire and Kentucky. The Chapter of the Year program focuses on member and prospect engagement at events, communication to members, and overall membership growth.

Adam Henning has been promoted to principal at Vrakas SC, Brookfield, while Katelynn Lorenzi was promoted to manager, Robert Grey to senior valuation analyst and Kayla Kakonis to marketing manager.
