Tallan Inc., a New York-based technology solutions company, joined the Microsoft Services Group of EY US.

Tallan uses Microsoft's Azure technology to streamline processes, integrate systems and help companies operate better. In addition to customers in the manufacturing, consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical and health care industries, Tallan has worked in state and local government, and its Legislative Management Suite is built using Microsoft technologies. EY hired over 100 team members as a result of the acquisition.

"Our clients are very focused on digital transformation, growth and leveraging the cloud," said Sonya Lehmann, EY Americas Microsoft Services Group Leader, in a statement Monday. "The core skills that Tallan brings in native cloud development, data science and AI, along with its Microsoft Azure experience, will significantly contribute to delivering transformative cloud solutions to help solve our clients' toughest business issues."

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. EY ranked No. 3 on Accounting Today's 2022 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $16.17 billion in annual revenue.

"We see great need among our clients for application modernization and data analytics solutions to meet their digital transformation ambitions," said Tallan CEO Craig Branning in a press release. "Joining the EY team is an amazing opportunity to expand the services we offer our clients on the Microsoft technology stack."

To be able to bring this level of talent and grow our firm geographically into Palm Beach County is a big win for all of us."

DJH Mitten Clarke acquires Novis & Co.

Another member firm of Russell Bedford, DJH Mitten Clarke, based in Stoke-on-Trent, U.K., announced its first acquisition of 2023, with Novis & Co, headquartered in Leeds, joining the group.

The partnership provides a springboard into West Yorkshire and the opportunity to grow their client base in the region. This is the latest move since announcing the firm's partnership with private equity firm Tenzing, whose investment has accelerated the firm's growth.

"Following the launch of our specialist R&D office in Sheffield, it's fantastic to enhance our presence within Yorkshire even further with a substantial office in Leeds," said DJH Mitten Clarke CEO Scott Heath in a statement last week. "Our conversations with the team at Novis & Co opened up a new opportunity which was right for our business and a natural next step on our journey."

Financial terms were not disclosed. "After many successful years providing support and business advice for our clients, it was evident that for us to continue to develop and grow our business we needed to look for a partner to strengthen our infrastructure," said Novis & Co. managing director Claire Howarth in a statement. "DJH Mitten Clarke brings with it a number of specialist services, such as capital allowances, R&D, corporate finance and commercial and residential funding, along with group services such as marketing, learning and development and recruitment. Ultimately, all of this will enhance the advice and support that we offer to our clients."

Morley will remain the home of the Novis & Co team, but in the next few months, it will take on the DJH Mitten Clarke name, becoming the Leeds office for the group. Howarth will continue to lead the team, alongside her fellow director, Steve Tucker.
