The National Conference of CPA Practitioners' Delaware Valley Chapter announced its 40th anniversary Silver and Bronze Award Winners. Edward Caine was recognized as the Silver Winner, awarded to the chapter member who has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to NCCPAP and the CPA community; and Mary Bonawitz of Orwigsburg, PA, is being recognized as the Bronze Winner, awarded to the chapter member considered to be influential as a leader and mentor in the CPA community. The honorees, including a single Gold Award designee who will be recognized for a lifetime of outstanding service, will be recognized at a special event on Oct. 23, 2019 at The Fox Hollow in Woodbury, New York.

FLORIDA

The Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance will host its Women Who Count National Conference Oct. 21-23 in Orlando. The event, at the Wyndham Grand Bonnet Creek, will feature 30 female professionals speaking on topics that include tax reform, accounting, auditing, information technology, communications and hiring talent. RSM, Chicago, announced the start of its second annual RSM Birdies Fore Love program for the start of the 2019-20 PGA tour season. Through the charitable program, the top three finishers in total birdies (or better) from all upcoming fall events earn $300,000, $150,000 and $50,000, respectively, for a charity of their choice, and the player who records the most birdies (or better) in each fall event will earn $50,000 for a charity of their choice, bringing the total to more than $1 million donated through this year’s program.

CliftonLarsonAllen Wealth Advisors announced it has secured $15.5 million of equity capital funding for long-term recapitalization of the 100-suite Residence Inn located in downtown St. Paul. The property was developed by Kaeding Management Group and is the first Marriott to be located in St. Paul. In other firm news, CLA also secured $30 million in opportunity zone funding for a mixed-use development located in downtown St. Paul, for a project known as the Seven Corners Gateway development, located across the street from the Xcel Energy Center.

The Advisory Board announced Michael Cain, president of LBMC Financial Services, and David Morgan, chairman of LBMC Financial Services, as the recipients of the 2020 Hall of Fame Award, given to individuals recognized as making significant contributions to the accounting profession. The award will be presented Jan. 22, 2020, at the Winning is Everything conference in Las Vegas.
