Firms giving back: Marcum to hold annual Day of Service

Traphagen Financial Group sponsored and participated in the Oradell Kids Foundation annual 5K and Fun Run, held in Oradell, New Jersey, on Oct. 12.

The TFG team comprised 15 team members and finished fifth in the race. Other TFG staff members volunteered at a booth to meet with community members.

The Oradell Kids Foundation is a nonprofit organization that benefits the children of Oradell. The annual run enables the foundation to fund the installation of new basketball hoops near Oradell Playground; sponsorship of mini-grant programs for every grade at Oradell Public School; and a scholarship for a graduating senior from River Dell High School.

All U.S. offices of Marcum LLP will once again close on Nov. 27, 2019, to volunteer with local nonprofit organizations as part of the Marcum Day of Service.

Open to all Marcum affiliates in the U.S., the Day of Service sees staff members spend a day volunteering with local hunger organizations. Approximately 46 nonprofits across the country will participate this year, while this year's Day of Service theme will be "Feeding America."

“The Marcum Day of Service has become a firmwide tradition that connects Marcum with our communities in a very literal way, while also allowing our people to connect with each other in a shared task that benefits the communities where we do business," said Jeffrey Weiner, Marcum chairman and CEO, in a statement. "It’s one of my favorite days of the year.”
