Airwallex launches in U.S.

Airwallex, which makes software to manage payments, treasury and expenses across international borders, has launched operations in the U.S. The Australian company offers small and midsized businesses a business account which include cards, international collections and transfers and other value-add services, and an API for larger enterprise businesses that require embedded payments and financial services.

Yahoo Small Business adds 1-800Accountant as app partner

Yahoo Small Business, a division of Verizon Business, has added several new apps to its partner ecosystem, including 1-800Accountant. 1-800Accountant offers year-round support from staff with industry- and state-specific experience in providing tax planning and guidance, including restructuring to reduce personal liability. The company also offers payroll and bookkeeping services.

Biller Genie completes $3.5 million seed round

Biller Genie, a startup that makes a checkout app, has secured a seed-funding round of $3.5 million. The company plans to use the growth capital to scale operations, accelerate distribution and speed development of new features, including a cryptocurrency payment option that Biller Genie expects to launch this fall.

Vertex releases advanced cloud-based VAT compliance software

Vertex has released the Vertex Cloud VAT Compliance solution with advanced features support the changing tax environment across Europe and other countries that require the digitalization of value-added tax (VAT) and goods and services tax (GST). The solution centralizes and streamlines compliance as companies enter new territories and indirect tax filings become more complex.
