Michael Solender has taken on the role of Global Vice Chair and General Counsel at EY, where he will carry out the global reorganization of the EY legal function and integrate EY’s internal legal operations worldwide. He will be based in New York but will spend significant amount of time with the executive team in London. Solender will be succeeded as General Counsel of Ernst & Young LLP US by Ron Hauben.

Mike Herold has joined the State and Local Tax Practice of Wipfli LLP as director. Prior to joining Wipfli, Herold was a principal at a national accounting firm where he was responsible for assisting clients in multi-state tax planning and audit defense, for firm wide training in state and local taxes, and for developing state tax strategies to advance the firm’s vision. Herold holds a juris doctorate degree from Hamline University, and a bachelor’s degree in organizational management and communication from Concordia University.
