Hemming Morse LLP Forensic and Financial Consulting Services partner Steven Boyles has been appointed co-chair of the Forensic Accounting & Litigation Support Specialty Group of The International Accounting Group. Christopher Baratta has joined Grant Thornton LLP as a managing director in the firm’s Health Care Advisory Services practice, based in the San Diego office. In this role, he will lead Health Care Advisory Services for Grant Thornton’s West region. Thirteen new tax professionals have earned their Certified Tax Coach designation after completing the American Institute of Certified Tax Coaches' three day training academy. The CTC designation provides advanced training in proactive tax planning ensuring each attendee graduates knowing how to save their clients thousands of dollars that would otherwise be wasted on unnecessary taxes. Rob Ward, a partner in PwC's Technology industry group, will be relocating back to the firm's Denver office from San Jose, California. Frank Peña has joined Kaufman Rossin as an assurance and advisory services principal. Peña has more than two decades of prior experience in public accounting in Florida and New York, where he has provided services in financial reporting and attestation, operational performance and internal control, forecasting and financial modeling, and mergers and acquisition. His experience includes financial statement audits of multi-national corporations and privately-owned organizations in a wide range of industries.

Keith Daniel has been appointed chief financial officer of Warbird Consulting Partners LLC. He has over 35 years of accounting and financial experience with nearly 20 years of financial executive experience. For over a decade prior to his new role, he was engaged in three different client projects at Warbird and has provided CFO and Controller services at the interim and project manager levels for numerous clients through consulting firms.

Christine Golz, a firm administrator at Weltman Bernfield LLC, received the 2015 ACE Award from the Association for Accounting Administration. Sydney Garmong, a partner at Crowe Horwath LLP, was elected Chairman of The Financial Managers Society. Bowman & Company LLP recently recognized the recipient of the. Courtney Guglielmo has won the 2015 Lisa A. Donahue Scholarship. The Lisa A. Donahue Scholarship is given in honor of Mrs. Donahue who lost her battle with cancer seven years ago and in recognition of her long and dedicated service to the CPA profession. She was a partner in Bowman & Company LLP at the time of her death. The scholarship is given in conjunction with the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. Guglielmo, of Clayton, NJ, completed her undergraduate degree in Accounting from Rowan University in May 2015 and will attend Clemson University in the fall to study for her Master of Professional Accountancy degree. Carol Donatiello Iocca has been elected Trustee of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants for a three-year term beginning June 1, 2015. Donatiello Iocca, is a partner at Wilkin & Guttenplan in East Brunswick. She joined the New Jersey Society of CPAs in 1981 and is a member of the NJCPA Peer Review Executive and Audit committees and the Accounting & Auditing Standards Interest Group. Greg Falk has joined BDO USA as the principal and tax lead of the Transaction Advisory Services practice in the firm’s New York City office. David Cruickshank, previously chairman of Deloitte UK from 2007 to 2015 and a member of its Board, has been appointed as the new Deloitte Global Chairman of the Board. Effective June 1, Cruickshank succeeds Steve Almond, who recently retired after serving as Chairman for the past four years. He will lead six partners and 60 professionals in the Eugene office.

Georgia Mueller has been named office manager at Graydon Thompson LLC. Mueller has more than two decades of experience in office administration, accounting and small business services, and is based in the firm’s Greenville office. A graduate of King’s College in Charlotte, North Carolina, she also has completed additional accounting coursework at Virginia Commonwealth University. Alex Castelli, a partner and National Leader at CohnReznick’s Technology and Life Sciences Industry Practice, has been appointed to the board of directors of the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce the largest chamber of commerce in the Washington D.C. Heather Maloy, currently the IRS Commissioner for the Large Business & International Division, will join EY’s National Tax Department as Tax Controversy Leader. Alexa Claybon has joined EY from the U.S. Treasury Office of Tax Policy as a Principal in the National Tax Department - Quantitative Services in Washington, D.C. At Treasury, Claybon was an Attorney-Advisor and a lead reviewer on recent guidance. Claybon was with Treasury since 2011, where she focused on income tax accounting methods, R&D tax credit expenditures and the domestic production deduction. In addition, she participated in the President’s budget and tax reform proposals, reviewed legislative proposals and assisted other Executive Branch agencies and Treasury departments with tax issues within her area of expertise. She also assisted in the development of the Treasury Department and IRS priority guidance plan.
