Donald Trump Tweets Signing of Massive Tax Return

Presidential candidate Donald Trump tweeted a pair of photos Thursday of him signing a humongous tax return in time to meet the October 15 deadline for tax extensions.

Trump’s tweet attracted a response from another Republican candidate, Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, who wrote, “Looks like you should support my Fair and Flat Tax Plan with a one-page tax return!”

Another Twitter user, Blaine Boyer, wrote, “I would have just eFiled if I were you!”

Trump has proposed a tax simplification plan that would exempt single people who earn less than $25,000 a year and married couples who earn less than $50,000 a year from paying taxes. Instead of a massive tax form like the one he filed, they would only have to file a single-page form.

"They get a new one-page form to send the IRS saying, 'I win,'" Trump said in announcing his tax plan last month. "Those who would otherwise owe income taxes will save an average of nearly $1,000 each."
