8 Tech Cos. from Accounting Space Named to Forbes Cloud 100

Forbes magazine’s inaugural Cloud 100 list included eight companies that are of particular interest to accounting and tax professionals.

The list profiles top-tier private companies from around the world that, in Forbes’ estimation, are leading the cloud-hosted software charge. The justification for the establishment of the Cloud 100 list is that these companies are changing how people do their jobs across all industries.

The eight software providers on the list that are active in the tax and accounting space are:

No. 29: sales & use tax compliance software provider Avalara.
No. 43: financial close automation software company BlackLine.
No. 51: payroll and HR solutions provider Gusto.
No. 65: forecasting, reporting and analysis software developer Adaptive Insights.
No. 66: office suite provider Zoho.
No. 86: expense reports developer Expensify.

No. 89: ERP and financial management software provider Intacct.
No. 92: CRM provider SugarCRM.

“Cloud companies are revolutionizing how businesses reach their customers today from digitizing painful old processes to allowing them more time to focus on what they really care about — what makes their products unique,” said Alex Konrad, editor of the Forbes Cloud 100 list. “Inclusion in the Forbes Cloud 100 list recognizes a company for its financial growth and excellence as recognized by customers and peers.”

The list appears in the October issue of Forbes magazine.
